ABOUT ME

Serena Davanzo graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Theatre in the Theatre Studies option and a BA in Journalism in the Broadcast Journalism option in December 2022. She’s from Pennsylvania and currently living in West Virginia.

She joins WOAY as their evening anchor and producer.

She was recently a student participant in the American Pavilion's Film and Business program at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023. She worked in membership where she assisted guests with obtaining their membership passes and maintaining protocols for guests of the American Pavilion.

During her time at Penn State she has acted in many student film projects, served on costumes for School of Theatre and Thespians productions, and performed in the School of Theatre 2021 Dance Concert.

She was a reporter and producer for the Centre County Report and interned for Prompt: A Journal of Theatre Theory, Practice, and Teaching and #HereToo Project: Stories of Youth Activism, where she served as the podcast editing intern for both. She even studied abroad in London, England at the Theatre Academy London.

She was a member of the Penn State Blue Band Silks, and served as Squad Leader, and Disney Club at Penn State. She was also the Vice President for the Penn State chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

While at Penn State, she worked as a Maker-in-Residence in the Maker Commons of the Pennsylvania State University’s Pattee and Paterno Library.
